Frequently Asked Questions

WILL THE RECREATION DEPARTMENT ESCORT MY CHILD TO CLASSES?

We are unable to escort your child to and from any recreation programs due to the staffing needs that this service would require.  All transportation arrangements for classes must be made on the parent/guardian's part.

HOW DO I PAY LESS FOR MY PROGRAMS?

All program registrations must occur prior to classes starting, or by the sign up deadline. The price of the class is increased by $10 if you register the day of or after the class has started.

IS THERE A FEE FOR DROPPING A CLASS BEFORE IT STARTS?

You may drop or transfer a class before it starts without penalty if completed at least two business days prior to the class beginning, with the exception to vendor programs.   A $10 fee per registration will be assessed if we do not receive this notice. You will receive an in-house credit for dropping a class.

CAN I DROP A CLASS AFTER IT STARTED?

In order to receive a pro-rated credit you must notify our office prior to the start of the third class. After the 3rd class has met, a credit for that class will not be issued. The credit expires two years from the date of issue. Credits can be accessed online.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A CLASS IS CANCELLED?

A full refund will be issued.

IF I CANNOT ATTEND ALL THE CLASS DATES, CAN MY FEES BE PRORATED?

Unfortunately no, we do not prorate any fees for our programs.

ONCE THE CLASS HAS BEGUN, CAN I STILL ENROLL?

Yes, as long as there are openings, but keep in mind we do not prorate any fees for our programs.

WHAT IF I CANNOT PAY THE CLASS FEES IN TOTAL AT REGISTRATION?

Payment plans are available for those people who cannot pay for all their program fees at the time of registration. Please contact our the Recreation Department for more information at 414-963-6913 x 4.

HOW CAN A GET A REDUCTION IN MY CLASS FEES?

Shorewood Recreation recognizes that some of the residents of Shorewood may require financial assistance to participate in recreation programs. If your child attends Shorewood Public Schools and has qualified for Shorewood's Nutritional Services Free and Reduced Meal Program, the student and their family members may receive reduced program fees.

If you live in Shorewood, you may also qualify for reduced program fees. Please complete a reduced program fee form and return the form to our department. Within two business days, we will notify you regarding your eligibility to receive reduced fees.

CAN I DONATE MONEY TO HELP DISADVANTAGED FAMILIES ENJOY YOUR PROGRAMS?

Yes, with Donation for Recreation! Your donation helps provide financial support to individuals who are unable to afford program fees.  You can donate online by going to Donation for Recreation or with your phone registration.
