Sketchbooks!

Atwater Artists learned about the Art Element COLOR and created sketchbooks with Color Wheels that included either the Primary, Secondary or Tertiary Colors.

Students also explored the question: What do artist's draw?

2021-22 SCHOOL YEAR

Where's the art?

Atwater families, as you may have noticed, your child has not brought any of their work home this year. What has come of your child’s wonderful art? Truth is, by assembling a history of work I can assess progress and promote student growth.  For example, student art can be selected as an artifact for Student Led Conferences in March. Don’t worry you’ll have their magnificent art soon!

CLAY!

After a long hiatus, clay art lessons are back! Check out the process of creating ceramic pieces using pinch pots or slab construction:

Kindergarten

Kindergarten Artists have been learning about tools of an artist, like sketchbooks and mannequins.  Students also learned about the artist Keith Haring and how he drew figures by playing a drawing game with a partner. Check out the great job they did creating observation drawings of mannequins for their sketchbook covers!
