​District Facilities Master Planning Update - April 2017

Dear Shorewood School District Community,

The District's Facilities Master Planning is currently in the phase of developing big ideas that would address our core areas identified by our Community Workshops in the Fall of 2016. These core areas are: ADA Accessibility, Safety and Security, Capital Maintenance and Modern Learning Environments.

Our staff is currently working with Eppstein Uhen Architects to develop potential projects that address our needs in these core areas. In May, our staff will see conceptual drawings of these projects and provide their feedback. Over the Summer, Eppstein Uhen Architects will make revisions based on the feedback from staff. In late August, staff will be able to see revised drawings of these projects and will be able to give their final feedback.

During the early Fall, community feedback will be gathered through workshops, focus groups and online forums. This feedback will go to the School Board in October in the form of a District Facilities Master Plan. The Board of Education will make decisions on how to address our facilities needs based on this plan. Dates and times for our facilities feedback sessions will be sent out in the beginning of September.
