Rising Shorewood High School sophomore Brady Tutton (SHS '20) is currently competing on ABC's new reality show competition "Boy Band." The show, which is hosted by Rita Ora, is a music competition that sees thousands of talented singers audition for one of 18 spots in three bands that must impress architects Emma Bunton, Nick Carter and Timbaland in hopes of evading elimination. Each episode features a different theme, and the architects shuffle contestants to find the best combination of voices to perform. Architects critique each band's performance and collectively determine two contestants who are up for elimination. After the contestants perform solo survival songs, viewers at home vote for their favorite to remain in the competition. In the finale, America's favorite five band members perform their new single for the first time.
While this is Tutton's first musically-focused TV appearance, he is no stranger to TV, as he had a small role in the 2012 Miley Cyrus teen dramedy "LOL," and also a seven-episode stint on the ABC sitcom "Fresh Off the Boat" as "Brock." What catapulted Tutton into singing, is that he suffered from a severe stutter as a child and the only way he could cure it was through singing.
To watch Tutton's progress on the show, tune into ABC on Thursday nights at 7 p.m.
