The Shorewood School Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Martin Lexmond as Superintendent. Mr. Lexmond was chosen after a four-month national search process that included substantial staff and community input. He will begin his position on July 1.
“It is truly humbling to have an opportunity to serve the Shorewood community. Shorewood is known and respected for its commitment to student excellence,” shared Martin Lexmond. “I am excited to lead a team with such an enthusiasm for the education of its children.”
He comes to the district with a wealth of experience including serving the last two years as the Superintendent of the Kohler Public School District. Additionally in that position he also served as Principal of Kohler High School in Kohler, Wisconsin. Prior to that, he was the Director of Curriculum and Instruction as well as the Director of the Department of School Innovation at Milwaukee Public Schools. Before those positions, he taught in Denver, Colorado and was an Assistant Principal and teacher at Milwaukee Public Schools. Mr. Lexmond is currently completing his Ed.D. in Leadership for the Advancement of Learning and Service from Cardinal Stritch University.

The Board will officially approve Martin Lexmond's contract on at an upcoming meeting. The District will publicize the date of the meeting when it is confirmed.
