Katherine Gerrits, Teacher

Katherine Gerrits received a BS in Human Development and Family Studies with an emphasis in Early Childhood from Colorado State University. Later, Katherine moved back to Milwaukee and became certified in Elementary Education 1-8 at Cardinal Stritch University. Since then, Katherine has worked in several preschools in the Milwaukee Area, most recently at North Shore Children’s Center in River Hills & Mequon Preschool. Katherine is very excited to begin teaching at Bright Beginnings Preschool for the 2015-2016 school year. Katherine feels that the most important thing about teaching preschool is creating an environment where each child has the opportunity to grow, and learn in a safe and nurturing classroom. Katherine cannot wait to begin learning with your child!

Elisabeth Witt, Teaching Assistant

Elisabeth earned her degrees in Biology and Conservation from St. Norbert College and the University of Michigan, then later pursued a teaching certification from Mount Mary College. She is a mother of four, her youngest just completing Bright Beginnings last year. Elisabeth values the importance of preschool in giving children their first positive experiences with school, teachers, and peers. She is very excited to work with this age group, and looks forward to a year of great imagination, love of learning, creative art projects, and an abundance of fun reading.
