Opportunities for High-Achieving Students
The Shorewood School District excels at preparing young scholars for the challenges and opportunities of the future with programs and opportunities designed to help cultivate individual talents and abilities. The Advanced Learning
Program, serving students K-12, is an important part of what we do.
Advanced learners need, and are entitled to, a rigorous and relevant curriculum. Shorewood’s Advanced Learning Program provides a creative, appropriately paced program in a supportive environment. To keep our eager learners motivated and involved we offer opportunities for differentiation in classroom instruction, subject or grade level acceleration, and a wide variety of enrichment opportunities. Our administrative staff works diligently along with skilled and responsive educators to create an energizing, nurturing, and challenging atmosphere that promotes a desire for higher achievement.
Shorewood’s Advanced Learning Program is based on a philosophy of shared responsibility among administrators, teachers, students, and parents. Students sharpen their academic skills and stretch their minds through an impressive variety of co-curricular and extra-curricular enrichment opportunities. Online cooperative classes, competitions, academic clubs and teams, science projects, language and art clubs, ecology programs and many other activities provide students with experiences to develop their talents.
