Emily Berry and Hilary DeBlois Elected to Shorewood School Board

Emily Berry

This is Berry's first term serving on the Shorewood School Board. She is currently a Director of Corporate Communications for Anthem, Inc. Her children Natalie and Charlie attend Lake Bluff Elementary School, and Berry has been an active volunteer and leader for the Lake Bluff PTO since her family moved to Shorewood in 2012.

Berry grew up in the Pacific Northwest and attended both public and private schools. She is a graduate of Kenyon College, where she studied Neuroscience and English with an emphasis in creative writing. The first decade of her career was spent writing for newspapers.

In her free time, Emily joins her family in rooting for the Milwaukee Bucks in the winter and spends a lot of time at Spector Field in spring, summer and fall, watching both her kids play baseball with Shorewood Little League. She is married to Ian Berry, who is better known to the families at Spector Field as "Coach Ian."

"Like virtually everyone I meet in Shorewood, my family chose to live here because of the reputation of our schools," says Berry. "I am honored to help lead the district forward and to work on behalf of our greatest treasure: our children."

Hilary DeBlois

This is DeBlois's second term serving on the Shorewood School Board, and she is proud to continue this important work in Shorewood. She is committed to continuing the long standing tradition of excellence in our schools and is particularly focused on ensuring ALL students succeed.

Hilary and her husband Todd have lived in Shorewood for nearly 15 years and have two beautiful daughters. The family is actively involved in volunteering in many ways in our community and believe in giving back. Professionally, Hilary has nearly 20 years of experience working in government and community relations. She is currently the Program and Outreach Coordinator for the Wisconsin Procurement Institute.

“The students are my north star and my inspiration for serving," says Hilary. "I am committed to advancing initiatives that ensure every student is prepared for a rapidly changing world.”
