District Raises Over $5 Million in Fundraising Efforts Over Last 5 Years

The Shorewood School District has raised over $5 million in fundraising efforts over the last five years, averaging over $1 million in donations per year.

These philanthropic contributions have supported a variety of District needs, including:

  • Authentic Learning Programs
  • STEM Programs
  • Instructional Technology
  • Student Scholarships
  • Classroom Improvements
  • Athletics Facilities
  • Professional Development for Teachers
  • Classroom Grants

The Shorewood School District has a unique capability in its Advancement Office. Established in 2014, the Advancement Office supports District initiatives by: engaging in fundraising activities; building strong partnerships with organizations; connecting and communicating with Shorewood alumni, friends, community members, and supporters; assisting with the launch of new programs throughout the District; and ensuring the implementation and investment of donated funds in collaboration with the Business Office.

Shorewood has another unique asset in the Shorewood SEED Foundation, an all-volunteer organization comprised of parents and community members, originally established in 2003. The SEED Foundation supports programming in the District each year through its Annual Fund efforts and signature Swing with Shorewood event.

The Shorewood Advancement Office and the SEED Foundation work closely together to help ensure critical funding supports programs in all schools, from grades K-12.

Shorewood also has other dedicated, volunteer-driven community organizations that help raise funds for school programs, including the school PTO organizations, Shorewood Booster Club for Athletics, Shorewood Band Parents Association, Shorewood Drama, and Orchestra Boosters. This strong community support contributes significantly to the success of the District's fundraising efforts.

In all, the District received a total of $5,243,463 in philanthropic contributions from July 1, 2014 to June 1, 2019. This total includes $1,416,528 in scholarship donations and pledged commitments.
