SHS Homecoming Week 2019

The Shorewood High School community is very excited for this year’s Homecoming Week festivities and the student selected theme of “A Day at the Beach.” Administration wanted to take this quick opportunity to share information about Homecoming Week, the PowderPuff Game, the parade, the football game, and the Homecoming dance. Homecoming week begins on Monday, September 23rd.

This exciting event will take place on Thursday, September 26th at the SHS football field. At 6:00PM the freshman will take on the sophomores. At approximately 7:30PM (or at the conclusion of the Freshman vs. Sophomore game) the juniors take on the seniors.

Homecoming Parade
The Homecoming Parade occurs on Friday, September 27th between the end of school and the start of the football game. Parade line up is at 4:00 PM in the SHS Parking Lot. The parade starts at 4:30 PM. We will follow the traditional parade route – From the high school parking lot - East on Shorewood Blvd., North on Maryland, West on Lake Bluff Blvd., South on Morris Blvd. Come enjoy the fun. If any school sponsored club, activity, or sport would like to participate in the parade please contact Sofia Fardella at [email protected].

Homecoming Football Game
Come cheer on the action as the Greyhounds look to take down the Greenfield Hawks! As with all home football games, Per Mar Event Staff will be on site to assist with crowd control and event management. We expect a large crowd, please plan on arriving early. Game starts at 7:00 PM.

Homecoming Dance
Doors open at 8:00 PM and the fun lasts until 11:00 PM. Non-SHS students will NOT be allowed to attend the homecoming dance. As in the past, all students will participate in “alcohol wanding” during entry. Students are allowed to bring bags and jackets, but access to these items will be very limited during the dance. Please be mindful of student attire – expectations for student dress and appearance are consistent with those during the regular school day. There is no “re-entry” during or after the dance; once a student leaves they will not be allowed back in.

Please remember the SHS Code of Conduct applies and is in effect during all Homecoming
events and activities (This includes but is not limited to the: Homecoming Dance, football and Powderpuff games, Parade, etc.)

Have a great Homecoming Week, Greyhounds!
