The cross-country team was also recently featured at a Shorewood School Board meeting, and SHS sophomore runner Annika Elliot spoke to the benefits of participating in an athletic program such as cross country.

“We’ve had an amazing start to the season. It’s crazy to be part of a team that has so much depth to it. We are so talented as a group of runners. It’s really cool to be a part of a program where we all care for each other and we all work really hard. We hope to continue our success throughout the season. Running is my life, and what I enjoy about cross country is the team aspect. I’ve never been with such a positive supportive group of people. It’s something we value. It teaches you mental toughness, and there’s no greater feeling than finishing a race, no matter how it went.”
