Board Approves 2019-2020 District Budget and Sets Mill Rate

At their regular meeting on October 22nd, the Shorewood School Board accepted the 2019-20 District budget and set the District’s mill rate for the school year. The mill rate for 2019-20 will be $14.07 per $1,000 of FMV, which is only 19 cents more than last year’s mill rate, set at $13.88 per $1,000 of FMV. This increase was much lower than anticipated, considering the passing of the $65 million Facilities Referendum and the $275,000 annual amount levied for the Capital Expansion Fund that was passed in Shorewood last April.

Mill Rate Per Fund
$10.45 General Fund
$0.29 Non Referendum Debt
$0.17 Capital Expansion Fund
$0.79 Community Education Fund
$2.37 Referendum Debt
$14.07 Mill Rate

Please note, Fund 41 was approved at the Annual Meeting and this is the first year that the District has money in Fund 41. The annual levy in this fund is $275,000.
