The fall nominations for the fourth-annual Journal Sentinel High School Sports Awards have been determined and the event, scheduled for Wednesday, May 6, will take place at the Riverside Theater in downtown Milwaukee.
During this red-carpet event, the Journal Sentinel will reveal its athletes of the year in each WIAA-sponsored sport as well as honor high school athletes who inspire the community by how they’ve overcome adversity or how they’ve contributed to their communities.
The winners of Journal Sentinel High School coach of the year, team of the year and overall athletes of the year for boys and girls will also be announced at the event.
Below are the fall sports player nominees, selected by preps sports editor Mark Stewart, in consultation with Journal Sentinel prep writer Curt Hogg. The selections were based on personal observations, all-state recognition and performance at state meets or tournaments.
