SIS Hybrid Model Info Letter & Third Quarter Declaration Form

SIS Families,

As many of you are aware, the Shorewood School Board determined at its meeting on Tuesday, December 22 that, if our District's revised COVID-19 gating criteria are met, we should be prepared to resume in-person instruction on a limited "hybrid" basis in the near future.

Please read the following letter containing information on this Hybrid Model carefully:  SIS - Hybrid Information Letter.  After reading, we are asking every family to declare their choice for each SIS student: whether to participate in the hybrid environment...

  • with In-Person learning (two days of In-Person learning per week, in addition to two days of Virtual learning and one asynchronous work day) OR

  • remaining in Virtual-Only mode.

You must submit a DECLARATION FORM by Sunday, January 10 at 11:59 PM to allow us to plan the transition (a link to the Declaration Form can be accessed within the letter).

Transitioning to this model is dependent on our community taking the pandemic and mitigation strategies seriously.  Please continue to do your part by wearing your masks, keeping your distance, and washing your hands. The following pages expand upon the details you will need to inform your family’s decision. Please weigh the decision carefully, and reach out to me if you have unanswered questions.

Wishing everyone a safe and restful Break,

Mike Joynt, SIS Principal
