Dear Shorewood Schools Community,
With great enthusiasm and excitement, I write this letter of introduction as the new Associate Principal of Shorewood High School. I am truly honored to accept this new role and look forward to the 2021-2022 school year!
I came to Shorewood from Oak Creek High School where I served as the Junior Associate Principal. Before my time in Oak Creek, I worked for Racine Unified School District in various roles serving as the Assistant Director of Alternative Education, Dean of Students, and an Instructional Coach. My formal teaching career started with Milwaukee Public Schools, where I served as a self-contained and cross-categorical teacher. After transitioning from MPS, I first served as a Special Education teacher and then Special Education Lead for Mequon-Thiensville School District. These were all amazing roles in which I feel led me to Shorewood!
My commitment to high scholastic achievement is something I hold dear; I am a part of various community and collegiate organizations, such as Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, AmeriCorps Alumni Network, Kappa Delta Pi, International Honor Society in Education. I received my Bachelor's from Lane College (Jackson, TN) in Business Administration with a Minor in Accounting and my Master's in Education with an emphasis in Teacher Leadership from Silver Lake College (Manitowoc, WI). Most recently, I earned my MBA from MSOE's Rader School of Business.
I strongly believe in the "power of one's potential" and the ability it has to transform the world around them. In my personal time, I enjoy mentoring teens, spending time with my younger brother, attending church, volunteering with my sorority sisters, shopping and traveling.
My decision to become an administrator came from a strong desire to positively impact an entire school community. As the Assistant Principal, I will work diligently with faculty and staff to carry out the vision and mission of Shorewood High School. I believe that as a school, we play a fundamental role in positioning students for future success. I am committed to working closely with students, teachers, parents, and community members to ensure our children achieve their full potential and are prepared for the next phase of their educational career. Shorewood High School has a long history of being a model of excellence school. I look forward to being a part of the Greyhound family!
