Important Back-To-School Reminders - 8.27.21

Dear Shorewood Families,

We are looking forward to welcoming back students on September 1.  Our layered COVID-19 mitigation strategies are in place and now we need your help.  Please review these four quick reminders:

1) Before the first day of school, emphasize the importance of mask wearing, hand hygiene, and social distancing.  Working together to make these safety efforts a priority will help avoid an outbreak and keep schools open.

2) Consider getting your child vaccinated if they are eligible to be vaccinated.  As the CDC reminds us, vaccination is the leading public health prevention strategy to end the COVID-19 pandemic.  Sources for free vaccines are available via this link.

3) Also, as a precautionary measure, you may want to have your child tested for COVID-19 prior to the start of school.  COVID tests are also free and will give you peace of mind. Again, local resources for COVID testing are available here.

4) As a final reminder, if your child is experiencing any symptoms of illness, please keep your child home and consult your healthcare provider for testing and care.

Working together to observe these health and safety practices will reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our community.  We thank you for your support of the Shorewood School District.

Students, we'll see you next Wednesday!
