Please join Shorewood High School's Youth Rising Up group, on Thursday, February 17 at 6:00pm (virtually), for their Black History Month presentation The Reclamation 2022: Showtime at the Apollo Theatre.
The evening will consist of an exciting two-part show. Part One will highlight Black figures across history through poetry, music, and a fashion show. In Part Two, the audience will experience what a night at the famous Apollo Theatre in Harlem is like. The Apollo Theater was the first theater that opened its doors to Black performers (in 1934), and it has been the epicenter of Black culture ever since. The YRU students are excited to pay tribute to this important beacon for the arts in America and legendary venue.
