Stone Soup Shakespeare Returns to Shorewood

Stone Soup Shakespeare returns on Saturday, September 17th at 6:00 p.m. with one of the bard's most lively comedies – A Midsummer Night’s Dream. They will perform on the Shorewood Public Library lawn at 3920 North Murray Avenue. (If there’s rain, the performance will be in lower level meeting room of the Shorewood Village Center.) Attendees are encouraged to join in the fun by wearing pajamas.

Stone Soup Shakespeare takes on a new twist to explore A Midsummer Night’s Dream. This modern-day dramatization finds four Athenian lovers in an entanglement with the woodland king and queen of the fairies. Complete with a love, marriage, imagination, and trickery, the troupe will explore some of Shakespeare's themes - magic, deception, and the parallels of order and disorder - with the energy and inventiveness of the troupes of players popular in Shakespeare’s day. Dust off your picnic baskets, shake out your blankets, then find a friend or a few, and let the play take you away!
