The Moxie Strings to Perform with Shorewood's Elementary Orchestra

The Shorewood Orchestra Boosters is excited to present The Moxie Strings, featuring Atwater and Lake Bluff orchestra students, in grades 4-6!

This special concert will take place Wednesday, March 8, at 7 p.m. in the Shorewood High School Auditorium (Gensler Theater). The event is free, very family-friendly, and is open to the public. The suggested donation is $10/adults and $5/students. Donations benefit the Shorewood Orchestra Boosters.

The Moxie Strings* offers listeners the unique opportunity to experience orchestra through an electric, innovative lens. They compose the majority of their pieces and arrange melodies from many countries resulting in a genre-blurring blend of ear-catching, mainstream melodies, and foot-stomping, rock-induced rhythms. The band's polished, high-energy show continues to redefine strings' role in contemporary music and offers audience members a diverse, fun musical experience.

More about The Moxie Strings

The Moxie Strings are dedicated educators who have spent the last 12 years inspiring, empowering, and motivating students through music. The Moxie Strings perform for students on electric instruments, teach music by ear, and introduce non-classical playing styles.  Diana and Alison teach enrichment workshops for students of all ages from elementary school to the collegiate level, and for both musicians and non-musicians. The Moxie Strings deliver their message in a fun, accessible way, and stand before students as the illustration of the many opportunities that music holds.
