District Names Tiara Rogers as SIS Principal

We are extremely pleased to share the news that Tiara Rogers has accepted the position of Shorewood Intermediate School Principal.  Ms. Rogers will be introduced at the April 25 School Board meeting and will assume duties on July 1, 2023.  Ms. Rogers succeeds Sam Nadolsky who is currently serving as SIS Interim Principal.

Ms. Rogers currently serves as the Director of Extended Learning and Educator Development in the Waukesha School District.  She has been an administrator in Waukesha for the past six years beginning as a principal of Waukesha East Alternative School/Waukesha Transition Academy.  Prior to this, she was an assistant principal in West Allis-West Milwaukee and also taught middle school at West Milwaukee Intermediate School.  She holds a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Cardinal Stritch University and a Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

"I am thrilled to serve as the next principal of Shorewood Intermediate School," she says. "I look forward to working in a school district and community that shares the same core values and beliefs as I do. As principal I will lead with the District's mission of 'Equity, Growth, and Excellence for All' at the forefront of my work. I will strive to make Shorewood Intermediate School a place where all students feel a sense of belonging and acceptance, parents and guardians feel welcomed, and staff feel encouraged and supported. I am truly thankful for this opportunity and I look forward to joining the Shorewood team!"

Ms. Rogers has distinguished herself as a leader who is both student-centered and data-driven. She has demonstrated a keen ability to collaborate with families, students, and teachers to ensure that students have a voice in their learning and are exploring their passions while achieving learning goals. Her experience in teacher development and mentoring will serve our talented staff well.  Ms. Rogers's wealth of experience aligns with many of the goals we have for our students and staff in Shorewood. She provided strong examples illustrating her proven ability to raise student achievement, succeed in curriculum and assessment implementation, support teacher growth, and advance equity, to name a few.

We want to thank all of the students, families, teachers, staff, and administrators who took the time to attend/watch the interviews, provide thoughtful and detailed feedback, and assist with the interview process over the past few weeks. Looking ahead, there will be an opportunity for staff and families to meet Ms. Rogers prior to the start of the next school year. More information on this will be forthcoming.

We are very grateful to Mr. Nadolsky for leading SIS this year as our Interim Principal. He is a talented instructional leader who has created positive growth at SIS and is a true asset in our school district.

As always, thank you for your support of SIS, our school district, and our teachers, staff, and leaders who support our students each and every day.
