Shorewood High School is proud to announce the appointment of the new boys swim co-coaches for the 2024-25 season, Coach Stephanie Appel and Jack Garcia.
Coach Garcia, with 19 years of experience in the sport, is ready to bring his wealth of knowledge to Shorewood High School as the Co-Head Coach. His passion for swimming is evident and we are confident in his ability to lead the team. As a former athlete at UW-Milwaukee, Coach Garcia brings discipline and experience to the program. His coaching philosophy centers on hard work, dedication, and fostering a positive team culture for everyone, whether veteran swimmers or new to the sport. Coach Garcia is coming off his first season with the Shorewood Swim Club and is excited to bring his experience of coaching under Dave Westfall to the program.
Coach Stephanie Appel is a recent college graduate with 13 years of competitive swimming at UW-Green Bay and UW-Milwaukee. While swimming in college, Coach Appel worked hard towards earning a degree in Forensic Psychology. She knows what it takes to be a successful student-athlete. Coach Appel has also been the assistant coach for the boys' and girls' swim teams for the last two and a half years. She is excited to start this season with the boys as their new head coach alongside Jack!
We are thrilled to welcome our new head coaches and eagerly anticipate the exciting season ahead. With their leadership, we are confident that our student-athletes will deliver great performances. Go, Greyhounds!
