Shorewood Historical Society Establishes New Scholarship at Shorewood High School

The Shorewood Historical Society has established a new scholarship at Shorewood High School. The Shorewood Historical Society Scholarship will be awarded annually to a deserving senior student at Shorewood High School in the approximate amount of $1,500. The scholarship will be directed toward the awardee’s college expenses.

A scholarships committee comprised of District staff will select Shorewood Historical Society Scholarship award recipients based on the following criteria:

• Interest in history, library science, historical preservation, or related study
• High level of academic achievement
• Strong character and community involvement
• Demonstrated financial need
• Attending a four-year college

Shorewood Historical Society leadership will be invited to attend the annual Shorewood Scholarships Awards Night in May, where the recipient of the scholarship will be announced, providing an opportunity to meet scholarship recipients and their families.

The Shorewood Historical Society was formed in 1984 to preserve and promote the rich history of the Village of Shorewood, Wisconsin. The Shorewood Historical Society’s collection of documents, pictures and other artifacts inspires research and educational programming and encourages Shorewood residents to serve as the institutional memory of our Village.
