WIAA 2 Boys XC Champs

The Shorewood Boys Cross Country team has done it again! The Greyhounds captured their 10th team title in program history, continuing a remarkable tradition of excellence. With this latest victory, Shorewood now ranks third all-time in WIAA history for the most team championships across all divisions, trailing only Stevens Point, which holds 15 titles.

Leading the charge was senior Ryan Lien, who earned 2nd Team All-State honors with an outstanding 9th place finish (16:09.2), securing a spot on the championship podium. Junior Nolan Johnson followed close behind in 13th place (16:23.6), while senior Ryan Optekar added crucial points, finishing 28th (16:41.2). Junior Benny Bejma and sophomore Kingston Nelson rounded out the scoring in 37th (16:49.4) and 62nd (17:26.6), respectively. Seniors Jacoby Vanderloop and Angus Vigoren-Clark also made strong contributions to the team's impressive performance.

With another dominant showing, the Greyhounds reaffirmed their Division 2 powerhouse status and brought home yet another championship trophy to Shorewood High School.

Congratulations to the entire team on this incredible achievement, and a special shoutout to Ryan Lien on his All-State recognition!
