Welcome to Lake Bluff Elementary School!

At Lake Bluff, we prepare students to meet the challenges of tomorrow by providing an education responsive to each child's talent and abilities in a nurturing environment. Our school community values character education as well as academic growth. Our approach focuses on the whole child. Our innovative and energetic teachers and staff assist our students in developing the skills they will need to be life long learners. Lake Bluff is fortunate to have an active parent organization that supports our school community through direct classroom volunteering, parent & student social activities, artists-in-residence programs, parent forums and so much more.

Did you know that Lake Bluff was named a State School of Character in 2012 by WCEP and a National School of Character by the National CEP at a National convention in Washington DC? Lake Bluff was the only school in the state of Wisconsin to receive this recognition in 2012 and one of about 25 in the entire nation. 2017-18 District Calendar

Current News

Shorewood alumni Donald Baumgartner (Class of 1949), Johnathan Bernard (Class of 2000), Christopher Carson (Class of 1994), Wayne Newhauser (Class of 1982), and Joan Walsh (Class of 1976) will be recognized during a special day-long event at Shorewood High School on April 13, which will include an awards ceremony at an assembly for all students, a luncheon, a tour of campus, and a reception sponsored by the Shorewood High School Alumni Association.
On February 13th, the Shorewood Recreation Department's Gravity Cruisers course culminated in an open house. Students were able to show off their designs, answer questions about the building process and--to everyone's enjoyment--race their vehicles.
At the start of every school year, staff engage in discussions about safety procedures and plans. In October, Atwater, Lake Bluff, Shorewood Intermediate School, and Shorewood High School participated in a School Safety Week. During this time, all schools practiced various safety drills, including lockdown and evacuation procedures. Learn more by clicking the above title.
We are pleased to announce that the nomination period for the 2018 Shorewood Excellence in Teaching Award is now open. To learn more about how to nominate a teacher and to view the teaching award timeline, click the above title.
The District is co-sponsoring Shorewood Reads 2018, a community read featuring the award-winning novel Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel, which will kick off on Wednesday, January 24, with a Story Slam. All events related to Shorewood Reads are free and open to the public.
