Welcome to Lake Bluff Elementary School!

At Lake Bluff, we prepare students to meet the challenges of tomorrow by providing an education responsive to each child's talent and abilities in a nurturing environment. Our school community values character education as well as academic growth. Our approach focuses on the whole child. Our innovative and energetic teachers and staff assist our students in developing the skills they will need to be life long learners. Lake Bluff is fortunate to have an active parent organization that supports our school community through direct classroom volunteering, parent & student social activities, artists-in-residence programs, parent forums and so much more.

Did you know that Lake Bluff was named a State School of Character in 2012 by WCEP and a National School of Character by the National CEP at a National convention in Washington DC? Lake Bluff was the only school in the state of Wisconsin to receive this recognition in 2012 and one of about 25 in the entire nation. Our status as a National School of Character is awarded for five years. Click HERE to read more about this honor.

How Shorewood School District Is Impacted By Recently Signed State Budget
Posted 10/09/2017 07:43PM

On September 26th, Governor Walker signed the 2017-2019 State Budget. This budget provides a 9% increase to General School Aid for all public schools and a 20.8% increase in money to support Private Choice Schools.

For the Shorewood School District, our increase in aid comes as a $200 per student increase in 2017-2018 and a $204 per student increase in 2018-2019. These increases are within the range that our budget was forecasted for in 2017-2018 and gives us a good foundation to begin our work on the 2018-2019 budgeting process.

The budget also included $3.2 million for Community and School Mental Health Collaboration Grants that will build structures of support between outside practitioners and school districts to assist students with mental health needs in school during the school day. This will provide more students with improved access to quality mental health care without having to leave school. Our district Mental Health Workgroup will be exploring opportunities of how this money may be most useful to our schools.

Statewide, the most significant issue is the Governor's veto of raising the per pupil revenue limit for low spending districts. This is significant for districts that have historically spent a low amount per pupil in their district, however we are not one of the low per pupil spending districts in the state. The low ceiling will remain at $9,100 per pupil in revenue and we are at $11,623 per pupil in revenue.

We are currently in the process of finalizing our 2017-2018 budget. The last of our state aid numbers will be available around October 15th. We will then be able to complete our budgeting process for 2017-2018 and begin our budgeting for the 2018-2019 school year.
