Welcome To Shorewood High School! Our graduates are confident, well-rounded, independent young adults who have learned to appreciate the diversity of our society and to be free-thinkers. To prepare our students for adulthood, we provide: a challenging, standards based curriculum in the core academic areas of language arts, math, science and social studies. The school offers nine advanced placement classes. Our Student Support Services Department that provides transition services including career exploration and post secondary planning for students and families, as well as, guidance on academic and personal matters. Additionally, Students have opportunities to participate in award winning performing and visual arts program that includes drama, orchestra, band, choir and studio art; additionally, they can expand on their personal interests by joining any of our more than 40 co-curricular activities.

2017-18 SHS Winter Play "Flowers for Algernon" Cast List

Congratulations to the cast of the 2017-18 Winter Play. You can view the full cast list below. The show, "Flowers for Algernon," will be performed in the SHS Gensler Theatre with the following show dates/times:

Thursday, January 25 at 7 p.m.
Friday, January 26, at 7 p.m.
Saturday, January 27, at 7 p.m.

Flowers for Algernon is based on the science fiction short story and subsequent novel written by Daniel Keyes, about Algernon--a laboratory mouse--who has undergone surgery to increase his intelligence by artificial means. The story is told by a series of progress reports written by Charlie Gordon, the first human test subject for the surgery, and it touches upon many different ethical and moral themes such as the treatment of the mentally disabled.
