COVID FAQS & DASHBOARD

The District has revamped the Covid-19 section of its website to include a significant list of FAQs and answers. The list is updated as needed and anyone can submit additional questions for suggested inclusion. District families and community members are encouraged to check the FAQs regularly for updated information, and also to check the Covid-19 Data Dashboard for the most updated information on cases in the Village and in the District, as well as student cases by learning model and more.

COVID QUARANTINE UPDATE

FULL DOCUMENT: WI-DHS and NSHD adopted the new CDC guidelines for COVID-19 close contacts.

The Shorewood School District, in alignment with the North Shore Health Department, continues to strongly recommend all household contacts and close contacts of COVID-19 to quarantine through the 14-day incubation period.

  • If household and close contacts are asymptomatic by Day 10 of their quarantine period, they are eligible for release as of Day 11.

    • Household members must begin their quarantine after the last day of the positive household member’s isolation (infectious) period OR begin their quarantine after the last day of contact if they are able to have total isolation from the positive household member.
      • Total isolation from a household member means the positive person is not in ANY shared spaces (even with a mask on) like the kitchen, bathroom, living room, etc. Unless the health department tells the school otherwise, quarantine will begin AFTER the positive person’s isolation period which means this could be over 20 days the student may be in quarantine. While I understand this is a long time, these are the recommendations to keep transmission low in schools.
  • 7-Day Test out for asymptomatic close contacts
    • Household and close contacts may choose to obtain a COVID-19 test on day 6 or 7 of their quarantine period.
    • If the test results come back negative, you may be eligible for release of quarantine on Day 8, if approved.
    • To be eligible for the early release, negative test results must submitted to [email protected]
    • Results will be reviewed on a first come, first serve basis. You MUST remain in quarantine until the District Nurse notifies you that you have been approved for the 7-day reduction. Review of results may be delayed and we ask for your patience and understanding at this time.
      • Please note: Not all tests are FDA approved. Please utilize the testing locations listed at TestUp_MKE to ensure your test is a valid test.
