Shorewood Schools

The Shorewood School District provides a liberal arts education responsive to each student’s interests and abilities. Located in Shorewood, Wisconsin along Lake Michigan just north of Milwaukee, we serve around 1,930 students in our District, which is comprised of two elementary schools, an intermediate school, and one high school, as well as a small charter school

The Shorewood School District has been nationally recognized for its tradition of excellence in education. Shorewood High School has been named a Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education and has also been previously ranked the #1 public high school in Wisconsin by U.S. News and World Report. The Shorewood School District has been ranked in the Top 10 among all school districts in Wisconsin by the Niche School Rankings.

The Shorewood School District is comprised of a diverse student population, with 37 languages spoken among students in the District. Shorewood is located just a mile away from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, providing unique opportunities for Shorewood students to engage in college-level learning, while our teachers have access to outstanding professional development opportunities. Shorewood is committed to giving our students in grades K-12 the opportunity to participate in authentic learning experiences that build their capacity to innovate, work together to solve problems, and contribute to their community. Shorewood also emphasized whole-child wellness.

Shorewood High School has a long list of distinguished alumni, including former U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice William Rehnquist, former U.S. Secretary of Defense Les Aspin, Rock 'n Roll Hall of Famer Jerry Harrison of The Talking Heads, and many others.
