Kelly Steiner Wins 2024 Excellence in Science Teaching Award

WSST AwardsShorewood Intermediate School teacher, Kelly Steiner, was recently recognized by the Wisconsin Society of Science Teachers (WSST) for her outstanding work with Science Education in Wisconsin. WSST recognizes teachers of science annually for their achievements. The Excellence in Science Teaching award is given each year to people who have made outstanding contributions to the improvement of science education in Wisconsin. 
 
Ms. Steiner has been teaching seventh and eighth grade science in the Shorewood School District for the past 19 years. In the district, she serves on the school leadership team, as District Equity Lead, and as a program lead in the district's mentoring program. 
 
Director of Teaching and Learning, Mike Joynt, describes Steiner as "a student-centered teacher who cares deeply about the academic, emotional, and social growth of her students."
