Author Visit Culminates Shorewood Reads 2022

Meet Steven Wright, author of the award-winning novel The Coyotes of Carthage, on Wednesday, April 27th, when he visits Shorewood in the culminating event of Shorewood Reads 2022.
 
An author visit with Steven Wright will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27th, in the lower level meeting room of the Shorewood Village Center, 3920 North Murray Avenue. Wright will discuss writing The Coyotes of Carthage and take questions from the audience. Daniel Goldin, proprietor of Milwaukee’s Boswell Book Company, will moderate the program. 
 
Earlier in the day, Wright will lead a writing workshop at which he will discuss his personal writing journey as well as the process of getting an agent, finding a publisher, and working with an editor. The workshop will be held at 10:00 a.m. in the Shorewood Village Center, 3920 North Murray Avenue. 
 
In the afternoon, Wright will share his thoughts on several issues that challenge freedom in a discussion titled “Threats to Local Democracy.” Wright will speak on voting rights, book banning, and more. The talk will be at 3:00 p.m. in the Shorewood Village Center, 3920 North Murray Avenue.
 
All programs are free and open to the public. 
 
Shorewood Reads is a community reading experience that aims to unite the community through a shared reading experience. The Coyotes of Carthage is a satirical political thriller about the use of dark money and dirty tricks in campaigns. In 2021, the Wisconsin Library Association recognized Wright with an Outstanding Achievement Award, and The Coyotes of Carthage has been shortlisted for the Ernest J. Gaines Award for Literary Excellence.
