NEW POLICIES

The Shorewood Recreation Department will be switching over to electronic tracking of swim members in an effort to speed up the check in process and to create a digital log for contact tracing purposes for Covid-19. Fitness Center Members  must bring their key tags to the pool to swim. IF their membership to the Fitness Center is valid, the computer will recognize them as eligible to swim automatically, therefore, we no longer need pool passes. If someone is in insurance re-imbursement, their Fitness Center membership will allow them access to the pool, so they no longer need a daily pass or to stop at the Fitness Center prior to coming to the pool.  For non-Fitness Center swimmers, we will continue selling 20 visit and single use passes, we will be loading a key card, that can be reused.

The following are new COVID-19 procedures that are being released in agreement with the recommendations of the North Shore Health Department regarding the Shorewood Recreation and Community Services Department’s use of the VHE pool for aquatic programming.

Masks remain required while inside of of the School District buildings.  The Recreation Department will continue to sanitize heavily touched surfaces.

The VHE Pool will have 4 labeled solo lanes (2 in the lap pool, and 2 in the shallow pool).  These lanes will be for persons who are unvaccinated or do not feel comfortable occupying a lane with others. Vaccinated individuals will be required to split lanes/circle swim- based on volume of patrons and ability in regards to speed of swimming.  The whirlpool will be opened, the capacity shall be reduced to 3 vaccinated persons limiting time to no more than 15 minutes, available only on a first come first serve basis.  The sauna shall reopen, limiting capacity  to 2 vaccinated persons at a time.  Lockers will be made available for use at your own risk.  Items/locks may not be left overnight.
