Shorewood School District School Perceptions Survey

Dear Shorewood Parents and Guardians,

Since 2017 we have partnered with School Perceptions, an independent educational research firm, to conduct District community surveys. These surveys are a key tool in evaluating what we are doing well and where we should focus our improvement efforts. We value your input and I am writing to ask you to participate and share your views. All surveys are conducted anonymously.

Parent/Guardian Survey

In the next few weeks, you will receive an email regarding our annual survey. If you do not receive an email invitation to complete the survey, please first check your “spam/junk” folder. If you need a new code, contact the Shorewood District Administration Office. We are also mailing a postcard to all Village residents. You do not need to complete the survey both as a Village resident and a parent/guardian.

Student Survey

Students in grades 4-12 will also have the opportunity to participate in Shorewood School District School Perceptions Student Engagement Survey. The anonymous survey collects data on seven indicators of student engagement: connectedness, drive, citizenship, preparation, social and emotional aptitude, wellness, and equity.

The web-based survey takes approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. A copy of the survey is available for your review, here.

The data collected from this survey will help us to improve the quality of the education and student experience in the Shorewood School District. However, if you do not want your child to participate, please email Maria Campbell at [email protected] by Friday, March 22, 2024. If no email is received, your child will be asked to participate in the survey. In the email, please include your child’s name, grade, and school.

Our goal is to have the survey results in June and available for public viewing in August via the District website. Administration will use the summer to analyze the results and to plan for the upcoming school year.

If you have any questions, please call 414-963-6931. As always, thank you for your partnership and commitment to the District and our students.

Sincerely,

Laurie Burgos, Ph.D.

Shorewood School District Superintendent
