Nomination Period Now Open for Shorewood's Excellence in Teaching Award

We are pleased to announce that the nomination period for the Shorewood Excellence in Teaching Award is now open. The annual awards recognize teachers who demonstrate a deep commitment to academic and artistic achievement, model professional and innovative teaching practices, and inspire students, colleagues, and the community through their dedication and leadership. A private donor has designated funds to be used solely for this purpose; no funds raised through Shorewood SEED Foundation are utilized for this award.

Eligible teachers can be nominated by their peers, students, community members or district parents. (Note: If you nominated a teacher in the past and he/she was not selected, please re-submit a new nomination for them to be considered this year.) After receiving a nomination, teachers have the option of participating in an application and review process in order to be considered for the award.

An independent volunteer committee comprised of highly accomplished professionals in education and leaders in the community will select the award recipients who will receive a monetary award. Each individual honoree will receive an award of $5,000.
