Shorewood Intermediate School principal Mike Joynt shares his thoughts on and experiences with implementing the ICS framework at SIS this school year.

Shorewood Intermediate School and we just started ICS work this year as a staff. The ICS leadership team that we worked with roll out the professional development received support from Dr. Capper and Dr. Frattura run the program directions are really good the conversations around Equity as a staff so previous the best we've done a lot of professional development around equity other with the ICS work we've been meeting once or twice a month as a staff to explore empathic and then be small through supplies for the classroom other 90s model of tedious and intentional 5-year framework and we're in year one of that framework and is it a lot of the work in your one is internal so we've been looking at the history of marginalization we've been examining our system to identify doing work around acids bases and are currently going your work around identity development and so it's the way that I see is is structured is that this content is first explored internally in personally and then we apply it to the right of the work that I seen this year change it. Perceptions about what teaching and learning can look like and what it means for all students to be successful in our school as we were looking to do is really analyze the time change senior one we've identified in equity is the work that will do over the summer is done to look at whatever toonzies you have to really change our systems code as a student. At our school Equitable where more students are finding success and we don't find disproportionality in our students so we'll really be looking inward weather scheduling our curriculum try and find those opportunities to create a more fair and shut our
