District Hosts Fifth Community-Wide Strategic Plan Framework Meeting

On Wednesday February 5th, the District hosted the fifth of six sessions to begin building an equitable District Strategic Plan Framework for 2020-2025.

Around 60 community, staff members, and students participated in a culminating exercise led by Ubuntu that generated an exhaustive list of concerns, questions, and recommendations for observable results pertaining to systems that drive or impact student results within the District. Participants then voted on five recommendations that emerged as themes from a previous session designed to generate visions of equitable systems within our District. The top three recommendations from last night’s session will help to inform the identification and improvement of systems to be prioritized as we continue our strategic framework planning.

“The deep and critical engagement between our schools and the community during this process sends an important message that affirms our shared commitment to equity, growth and excellence for all” says Director for Equity Sam Coleman.

The next and FINAL session of the series will be on Wednesday, March 4th, from 6-8pm in the lower level of the Village Center. We invite community members, students, staff, and families to join us as we move our collaborative work forward with the District Leadership Team.
