Community Partnerships
New Horizons Charter School is proud to foster continuing educational partnerships with the following organizations:
Weber's Garden Center:
Through their partnership with Weber’s, New Horizons students get a dynamic hands-on approach to co-intentional learning. Through assisting with various greenhouse tasks, students experience the growth, empowerment, leadership, and civic responsibility instilled by the missions put forth by New Horizons.
Sweet Water Foundation:
Together, New Horizons and Sweet Water Foundation have been continuing an innovative approach to education through experiences in leadership and reflections on the values of 21st century global citizenry. Students have grown to understand the "systems" way of thinking that will prepare them to move forward into an increasingly "green-collar" economy.
North Park University, Department of Sociology:
New Horizons has been working with North Park University through sharing ideas about a collaborative model that incorporates learning, leadership, and service.
By hearing presentations from students new to the program, as well as those about to graduate, new ideas have been formed about service and research.
International Visitor Leadership Program: In conjunction with the State Department, New Horizons was proud to host leaders from the nation of Azerbaijan to discuss youth activism and volunteerism in the US.
Steppingstone Farms: Students learn horsemanship and experience service learning on this nonprofit farm in Franksville, Wisconsin.
Milwaukee Rescue Mission: Students provided service -- including creating garden boxes and planting flowers -- to this biggest homeless shelter in Wisconsin
